To be of resource for the whole hospital
Processes payroll bi-weekly for 60+ employees via Paycor. Maintains timekeeping information & oversees the employee reimbursement program in accordance with state regulations and/or laws.
Monitors & ensures the organization complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws/regulations.
Recommends best practices; reviews or modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. Ensure compliance with employment laws related to hiring, compensation, promotion, and working conditions.
Assists with onboarding, transitions, and offboarding for all levels or the hospital. Keep all systems up to date (i.e. Paycor, Instinct, At Dove, etc.).
Reports all new hires to the state of Maryland. Conducts orientations and stay/exit interviews.
Supports management by providing employee relations advice, counsel, and decisions by analyzing information and current environmental or industry trends.
Keep records of disciplinary actions in employee files.
Assists in resolving complex employee relations issues and address grievances as needed
Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent or reduced schedule leave use.
Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
Facilitates conversations with employees with disabilities to provide reasonable accommodations and solutions as outlined by ADA.
Manage vendor relationships with multiple insurance brokers. Handle any employee needs for inquiries, changes, onboarding or offboarding of our benefits program which includes (but not limited to) Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance, 401(k) and Voluntary benefits.
Manage hospital documentation. Oversee and work with management team on maintaining Employment Policy Handbook, employment contracts, job descriptions, and hospital checklists, etc.
Assist with work place investigations.
Helps to build the company's culture by assisting with planning of employee engagement activities, events, and initiatives.
Assist in the company's outreach and community service programs.
Keep employee files up to date and compliant at all times.
Create payment plans with employees to recoup funds such as benefit arrears (other plans as needed).
Suggest new HR strategies.
Assist with overall staff recruiting
Completes employment verifications and unemployment claims as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required
PHR or SHRM Certification Preferred
Experience with 60+ employees
At least 3+ years HR experience preferred
At least 2+ years management/supervisory experience.
HRIS experience (currently utilizing Paycor)
Veterinary experience preferred
Experience with payroll
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
High attention to detail
