For more than 30 years, JSI has been designing and manufacturing its display fixtures across its four North American locations. We are looking for a HR Generalist to support our JSI team in Milo, Maine or Bangor, Maine.Essential Job Functions:
Employee Relations & Leadership Support Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned business units, providing guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices Conduct employee investigations, document findings, and partner with leadership on appropriate corrective actions Coach supervisors on performance management, employee engagement, and conflict resolution Support disciplinary processes ensuring consistency, fairness, and legal compliance Compliance & Policy Administration Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Interpret and apply company policies and recommend updates as needed Maintain accurate and compliant employee records and HR documentation Support audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements Recruitment & Onboarding Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting efforts, including job postings, screening, and interview coordination Facilitate onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a positive employee experience Support workforce planning initiatives including headcount tracking and gap analysis Training & Development Coordinate and deliver training programs, including onboarding, compliance, and leadership development Identify development needs and support implementation of training initiatives Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth Safety & Risk Management Promote a culture of safety by partnering with operations on training, coaching, and compliance initiatives Support incident investigations and corrective action follow-up Ensure adherence to company safety policies and OSHA requirements Benefits & HR Operations Administer employee benefits programs and respond to employee inquiries Support leave administration (FMLA, ADA, and other applicable programs) Process personnel changes and maintain data integrity within HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) Assist with payroll coordination and reporting as neededMinimum Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of 2+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or multi-site environment preferred Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices Experience handling employee relations issues and investigations Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred) Bilingual in Spanish preferred Education and/orExperience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferredPhysical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely and effectively Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperaturesBenefits:
