full-time Senior HR Generalist Grand Rapids, MI Area | Manufacturing | On-Site Our client is seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to provide hands-on HR support for a large, multi-shift manufacturing operation in the Grand Rapids area. This role will serve as a key HR resource for hourly and salaried employees while partnering closely with supervisors, plant leadership, and the HR Manager. The position has a strong focus on employee relations, manufacturing recruiting, leave administration, compliance, performance management, and day-to-day HR operations . | Workers' Compensation | Performance Management | HR Compliance What You'll Do Serve as a primary HR resource for hourly and salaried employees in a multi-shift manufacturing environment Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, policy violations, performance issues, corrective actions, and terminations Advise supervisors on performance management, disciplinary situations, documentation, and employee conversations Administer

accommodations, short-term disability, and other employee leave processes Coordinate workers' compensation cases, work restrictions, and return-to-work activities Manage attendance administration, tracking, employee notifications, and escalation Support high-volume recruiting for manufacturing and production positions Maintain employee records, personnel changes, and HR transactions within the HRIS Ensure HR documentation and employee files are accurate and audit-ready Support I-9 documentation and federal and state employment compliance requirements Partner with plant leadership on policy interpretation, employee communications, engagement, and workplace issues Provide backup support for timekeeping, attendance, and related payroll matters Maintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor and provide HR support across shifts as needed What We're Looking For 5+ years of well-rounded HR Generalist experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 2+ years of recruiting experience , ideally supporting high-volume manufacturing hiring or through a third-party recruiting firm focused on manufacturing Strong employee relations experience, including investigations, corrective actions, performance management, and terminations Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA/accommodations, workers' compensation, and employment law Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Strong judgment, communication, and documentation skills Ability to independently manage sensitive and complex employee matters Similar backgrounds may include: Senior HR Generalist, HR Generalist, Human Resources Generalist, Employee Relations Generalist, Plant HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Human Resources Business Partner, or Human Resources Specialist.
