As an Education Equity Specialist you will provide support to agency staff to identify and eliminate structural and institutional barriers of racism while transforming education systems to provide all students with equitable access and outcomes, without exception. You will develop and facilitate professional development and other growth experiences for agency staff and external partners to identify, interrupt and transform barriers to equity and inclusion. The Education Equity Specialist will engage agency staff in conversations and action planning to ensure high levels of learning and implementation across the agency and statewide.
  • Telework
  • This position is eligible for hybrid telework.
Employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location. Existing employees who were approved to telework from a bordering state and more than 50 miles from their work location before June 1, 2025, may retain this arrangement unless they move farther away.
  • Minimum Qualifications

•. 5 years of experience developing or leading equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives within organizations.
Experience must include:
+ Experience developing and facilitating anti-racist, anti-bias and/or culturally responsive professional development. + Experience coaching leaders and/or educators for the advancement of equity, diversity and/or inclusion efforts. + Experience creating equity, diversity, and inclusion guidance and/or resources. + Experience leading a project team or committees. A Doctorate degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience; Master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; Bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience; and an Associate's degree may substitute for six (6) months of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + Experience conducting equity, diversity, or inclusion program and needs assessments and evaluations.
+ Experience leading or supporting organizational change management initiatives. + Experience leading or implementing education equity policies and practices that advance equity, diversity, and inclusion programming. + Experience building strong relationships with schools, districts, and/or charters, and community partners.
