The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs. Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River , located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; MCC-Online and MCC-Penn Valley , located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. Job Summary Incumbents serve as a college and/or community contact person for specific program(s), assist with the promotion and delivery of its services, assist with program management functions such as scheduling facilities, coordinating resources, maintaining program data, and preparing/disseminating program information. Essential Functions Serves as a college and/or community contact person for specific program(s)/unit assigned; work may involve responding to inquiries and providing program information via phone or email, or in person Assists with the promotion and delivery of program services; work may involve preparing promotional materials; and coordinating with internal and external staff, departments, and/or agencies to promote and communicate information, and facilitate operations related to the program Assists with program management functions, as it pertains to unit assigned, to include scheduling facilities, coordinating resources, maintaining program data, and preparing and disseminating program information Prepares and maintains reports, records, logs, and other documentation to record information in a timely and accurate manner; work may involve researching and compiling information to facilitate departmental operations Responsible for performing a variety of fiscal operations tasks may include billing, AR management, reviewing submitted paperwork for accuracy and obtaining the required signatures. Creating documents for unit related processes Takes and posts client account payments. Researches client accounts to make sure payments are applied to the correct client. Work may involve balancing cash drawer daily and submitting daily closing reports Create and/or monitor all purchase requisitions for contractor payment or purchase of anything needed for services provided Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED Four (4) years administrative support, program/project support experience, or directly related work experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of principles and practices in assigned area of responsibility Knowledge of basic marketing principles and practices Knowledge of customer service principles Knowledge of computer and related software Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations Skilled in Excel and spreadsheet tools, with strong capabilities in data organization, analysis, and reporting Skilled in developing promotional materials and programs Skilled in researching and compiling information Skilled in providing customer service Skilled in preparing and maintaining records and reports Skilled in applying applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations Skilled in utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity and walking.
