Full Job Description Summary:
The SR. Payroll & HR Compliance Analyst a pivotal role in driving the company's financial strategy, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, and supporting key decision-making processes, particularly in relation to growth initiatives. This role is a strategic partner to the CFO and Controller and collaborates closely with internal team to ensure financial objectives are aligned with overall business goals.What You'll Be Doing:
Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain an in-depth understanding of payroll taxes and ensure accurate tax filings and payments. Address and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Partner with Finance and Accounting teams for payroll reconciliation and reporting. Monitor and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws across multiple states, if applicable. Assist in managing leaves, including FMLA, ADA, and other statutory or company-provided leaves. Ensure compliance with all leave-related laws and regulations, providing guidance to employees and managers. Maintain accurate leave records and ensure proper payments during leave periods. Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Manages the daily administration of benefit plans in the HRIS system, reconciles issues and frequently audits the benefit systems for accuracy to meet internal customer and financial goals. Manage employee data within the HRIS system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. Generate, analyze, and interpret HRIS and payroll reports to support business decisions and compliance efforts. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation within the HRIS system. Collaborate with IT and HRIS vendors to resolve system-related issues and enhance system functionality. Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll and HR regulations, including FMLA, ADA, ERISA, ACA, wage laws, and tax requirements. Conduct regular audits of payroll, leave management, and HRIS processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Develop and maintain documentation for payroll, compliance, and leave procedures. Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any findings. Provide training and guidance to junior staff on payroll, leave management, and compliance practices. Ensure the proper storage and retention of all payroll related records, according to appropriate law and company policy. Stay updated on changes to payroll and HR compliance regulations, implementing updates as needed. Oversee the maintenance of SOP documentation relative to all payroll processes and practices, including but not limited to payroll processing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and initiatives. Other duties as assignedWhat You Need:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Certification in payroll or HR compliance is highly desirable.Experience:
5 years of experience in payroll, leave management, and HR complianceKnowledge/Experience/Skills:
Excellent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Skilled in handling interactions with customers and employees with tact and professionalism. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel. Advanced knowledge of payroll taxes and compliance requirements. Proficiency in HRIS systems and payroll software Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present complex data. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Manual Dexterity:
Frequent use of hands and fingers is necessary for computer tasks, document handling, and operating various office and warehouse equipment. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during the workday. Work may involve travel to company locations or meetings. Must adapt to varying work conditions, including office, warehouse and transportation environments.Warehouse Environment:
Visits to warehouse locations are seldom and may involve exposure to loud noises, fluctuating temperatures (both cold and hot), and moving machinery.
