What You'll Do At Monteith As a People Department intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the people, culture, and programs that make Monteith a great place to work. You'll work alongside our People Department on a variety of initiatives while gaining exposure to recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits, training, and other areas of human resources. This part-time (15-25 hours per week) hourly position will be based out of the Wilmington, NC office. Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate communication, interview coordination, and career fair preparation Assist with new hire onboarding and help create a welcoming experience for new employees Support employee engagement, recognition, and company culture initiatives Gain exposure to benefits administration, employee records, HR systems, and day-to-day HR operations Help maintain accurate employee information, documentation, and People Department resources Experience You Should Have Working toward a degree in human resources, business, or another related field or experience in human resource-related job functions preferred. Excellent Interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills Ability to learn, understand, and explain company policies, procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
