Job Description

Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation by leading full-cycle recruitment and onboarding while serving as a trusted partner across all core HR functions. This position will work closely with plant leadership and corporate teams to attract, develop, and retain talent, ensure compliance, and foster a positive and productive work environment. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of progressive HR experience, strong recruiting expertise (including hourly manufacturing roles), and the ability to confidently advise managers on HR best practices. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly, skilled trades, and salaried positions. Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and create effective sourcing strategies. Develop and maintain candidate pipelines through job boards, networking, community partnerships, and referrals. Coordinate interviews, manage candidate communications, and ensure a positive candidate experience. Facilitate offer preparation, background checks, and pre-employment processes. Track recruiting metrics and identify opportunities to improve time-to-fill and quality-of-hire. Onboarding & Employee Integration Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding and orientation programs. Ensure completion of I-9s, compliance documentation, and new hire paperwork within ADP Workforce Now. Be knowledgeable in benefits to answer basic questions from candidates and new hires during onboarding process. Partner with operations to ensure smooth integration into the production environment. Monitor onboarding effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase retention. Compliance & Policy Administration Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain employee files and HRIS data accuracy. Support audits and reporting requirements. Assist in maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures. Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations Support benefits administration and employee questions. Assist with payroll coordination and timekeeping processes as needed. Other Duties as Needed Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a first point of contact for employee and supervisor HR inquiries.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruitment, including high-volume hourly hiring. Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Ability to build relationships with frontline employees and leadership. Balance independent analytical skills with the professional intuition to escalate and seek support when necessary.
Preferred:
Experience supporting multi-shift manufacturing operations. HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) or willingness to obtain. Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems. Regular interaction with production employees and plant leadership is required. Occasional extended hours may be needed to support multi-shift operations and hiring initiatives.
