Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Volunteer Onboarding Specialist Part time (up to 140hours per week)Reports to:
Volunteer Manager Basic Responsibilities:
Coordinating all administration related to onboarding of new volunteers
Volunteer Department:
Manage all volunteer inquiries and help determine who is appropriate and should be vetted for open positionsConduct background checks, including criminal history and reference verification, for new volunteersCheck motor vehicle reports and ensure safe driving records, for those who require itVerify all required qualifications have been signed, uploaded, or completedApprove qualifications, as completedFollow up on missing qualificationsHelp obtain appointments and letters regarding drug testing and fingerprinting, where applicableKeep a record of the status of all inquiries and new volunteers who are being vettedParticipate and aid coordination for events such as our annual breakfast for National Volunteer WeekSupport administrative needs for Annual Celebration and Stepping Out GalaAttendance at all full staff meetings and agency eventsOpportunities for additional responsibility including training of new volunteersCross training on other Volunteer Department responsibilities encouragedOther administrative responsibilities, as necessary
Qualifications:
College degree preferredComputer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint requiredAbility to multi-task, organized, and detail orientedExcellent interpersonal and phone skillsExperience with volunteers or as a volunteer preferred
