full-time Client Overview Our client is a fast-paced manufacturing facility located in the heart of Somerset County. They are currently looking to add an HR Generalist to their team. Salary/Hourly Rate $60k - $70k Position Overview The HR Generalist will support day-to-day HR operations for a fast-paced manufacturing facility in Somerset County. This role provides hands-on support in recruiting, employee relations, performance management, benefits and leave administration, HR compliance, and HR initiatives that support a high-performing and safety-focused culture.

Responsibilities Of The HR Generalist Recruitment & Onboarding:

Partner with Hiring Managers to fill hourly and salaried roles. Post jobs, screen candidates, coordinate interviews and offers. Manage background checks, pre-employment steps, orientation, plant tours, and HR documentation to ensure smooth onboarding.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

Act as primary HR contact for employees and supervisors. Support consistent policy application, assist with investigations, and document findings. Help drive engagement, retention, communication, and a respectful, inclusive, safety-first culture across all shifts.

Performance Management & Development:

Support performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning. Coach supervisors on feedback, documentation, and corrective action. Assist with disciplinary and performance improvement processes and coordinate training for hourly and salaried staff.

Benefits & Leave Administration:

Serve as benefits contact for employees. Coordinate communications, open enrollment, and life-event changes. Administer

FMLA, NJ

leave, and other leaves, including tracking and documentation. Work with vendors and internal partners to resolve issues.

Compliance & HR Administration:

Maintain HR records. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and NJ-specific employment laws. Assist with audits, reporting, metrics, job descriptions, org charts, and safety/compliance initiatives in partnership with EHS and plant leadership.

HR Programs & Continuous Improvement:

Support HR projects, change management, and implementation of HR best practices and systems aligned with plant and corporate goals, with a focus on continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Required Experience/Skills For The HR Generalist 3+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Demonstrated experience supporting employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and benefits/leave administration. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Preferred Experience/Skills For The HR Generalist Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build trust and credibility with employees at all levels and across all shifts. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Experience with NJ state labor laws is a plus. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree is required. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision. 401(K). PTO.
