P/T Workforce Outreach Specialist Salary $22.73 - $30.31 Hourly Location Main Campus - Toms River, NJ Job Type Part-Time Job Number 202301258 Division Academic Affairs Department School of Workforce Education Opening Date 07/24/2026 Closing Date 8/2/2026 11:59 PM Eastern Description Benefits Questions The Position The Part-Time Workforce Outreach Specialist serves as a primary representative of the Workforce Innovation department by developing and maintaining relationships with community partners; including employers, businesses, municipalities, healthcare organizations, nonprofit organizations, school districts, and government agencies. This position identifies workforce training opportunities, promotes Workforce Innovation programs and services, and supports the development of customized training solutions that address employer and community workforce needs. This position maintains an active outreach pipeline, tracks partnership performance and participant outcomes, prepares regular reports, and identifies opportunities to strengthen and expand Workforce Innovation partnerships that support the College's strategic goals and community impact. What You Will Do Identifies, researches, develops, and cultivates relationships with employers, businesses, municipalities, healthcare organizations, nonprofit organizations, school districts, government agencies, and other community partners to promote Workforce Innovation programs and services. Conducts proactive outreach through networking events, employer visits, presentations, community meetings, conferences, and professional organizations to identify workforce training opportunities and increase awareness of Workforce Innovation programs. Meets with employers and community partners to assess workforce training needs, identify skill gaps, and collaborate with Workforce Innovation leadership to recommend customized education and training solutions. Serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing workforce partners by maintaining regular communication, responding to inquiries, coordinating meetings, and fostering productive, long-term relationships. Coordinates partnership activities from initial outreach through implementation by monitoring timelines, facilitating communication among internal and external stakeholders, tracking action items, coordinating logistics, and ensuring successful execution of partnership objectives. Collaborates with Workforce Innovation leadership, faculty, and staff to support the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of customized training initiatives and workforce programs. Maintains an organized outreach and partnership pipeline by documenting employer contacts, meetings, partnership status, opportunities, follow-up activities, and project outcomes utilizing designated tracking systems and databases. Monitors partnership success by tracking enrollment, participation, completion rates, industry-recognized credentials, employer satisfaction, repeat business, and other measurable outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Maintains ongoing communication with employers and community partners following program implementation to evaluate participant success, identify additional workforce training needs, strengthen partnerships, and promote future collaboration. Prepares weekly outreach and partnership reports summarizing outreach activities, meetings conducted, partnership development, implementation status, measurable outcomes, follow-up activities, and recommendations for future opportunities. Represents Ocean County College Workforce Innovation at employer meetings, networking events, chamber of commerce meetings, workforce development initiatives, career fairs, and other community engagement activities to promote Workforce Innovation programs and services. Assists in the development of presentations, outreach materials, marketing communications, and promotional activities that support Workforce Innovation initiatives and employer engagement. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned. The Successful Candidate Must Have Associate's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Education, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or a closely related field. Two (2) years of experience in business development, employer engagement, sales, workforce development, higher education, customer relationship management, marketing, community outreach, or a related field. Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, customer service, and relationship-building skills. Valid driver's license in good standing and willingness to travel throughout Ocean County and surrounding communities as required. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support employer and community engagement activities. Even Better If You Have Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Education, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or a closely related field. Experience in workforce development, continuing education, customized training, employer engagement, economic development, or higher education. Experience using CRM software, Salesforce, Elevate, Ellucian Colleague, or similar relationship management systems. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
