Job description Payroll / HR Specialist Summary Member of the Accounting team will ensure accurate processing and recording of company's payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in daily data entry Payroll processing. This position also includes the functions of Human Relations, including employee files and benefits. This position will impact a well-established and growing organization and offers career development opportunities for the right candidate. Duties and Responsibilities
- Payroll
- Perform daily payroll department operations
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- electronic time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
- Coordinate to provide accurate and timely quarterly and year-end reporting when necessary
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed Duties and Responsibilities
- Human Relations
- Perform daily human relations responsibilities
- Generate complete and accurate employee files for new employees, and maintain existing employee files
- Coordinate benefits enrollments for new employees, and facilitate changes with existing employees
- Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages
- Assist in administrator of health and life insurance programs
- Inform employees about benefits eligibility changes (e.g extra vacation days)
- Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status
- Develop and implement HR policies throughout the organization
- Process employees' queries and respond in a timely manner
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- 4-6 years' experience processing multi-state payroll and Human Relations
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
- Strong work ethic and team player
- High degree of professionalism
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management
- Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
