Job Description:
The Office of the Title IX Coordinator oversees University-wide compliance with UAlbany policies, state laws and federal laws that prohibit discrimination and sexual misconduct. To ensure compliance, the Office of the
Title IX Coordinator:
conducts prompt, fair, and unbiased investigations into allegations of workplace discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation identifies patterns of these forms of misconduct in need of address conducts student and staff trainings related to these topics provides information about on- and off-campus resources and support services The Office of the Title IX Coordinator sits within the Office of Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance within the Division of Finance and Administration. The Title IX Case Management & Investigative Support Specialist is an entry-level professional position for candidates ready to develop in the role, with strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a demonstrated interest in civil rights compliance, equity, and trauma-informed practices. This position contributes to the institution's Title IX and civil rights response functions, including meaningful participation in investigative processes, case management, and educational initiatives. The role, while not serving as an independent investigator, will contribute to investigative work in a structured, mentored capacity. The Specialist performs professional work requiring discretion, critical thinking, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters. The position includes assignments of increasing complexity as proficiency in the role develops, within the established scope of the position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participate in investigative processes under the guidance of the Title IX Coordinator or lead investigator Conduct preliminary fact-gathering tasks such as reviewing documents, policies, and digital evidence Assist with implementing supportive measures by gathering relevant information and coordinating logistics with campus partners Support the Coordinator in preparing materials for hearings, informal resolutions, and administrative reviews Assist with data collection and preparation of annual reports, climate assessments, and compliance audits to help identify trends or systemic issues emerging from case data. Contribute to the development of training materials, presentations, and educational resources through the creation of content such as training presentations, informational posters, brochures, and infographics, and assist in facilitating workshops or informational sessions for students, staff, and faculty. Engage in ongoing training related to Title IX, civil rights, trauma-informed practices, and investigative techniques, and research trends and best practices relating to Title IX issues and compliance, make recommendations based on research findings Other reasonable duties as assigned
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
Reports to: The Director for Sexual Misconduct Response and Title IX Coordinator.
Job Requirements:
Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Capacity to engage with individuals experiencing stress or trauma in a compassionate, neutral, and supportive manner. Commitment to fairness, impartiality, and procedural integrity Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow into more advanced responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to analyze information, identify gaps, and synthesize complex details as shown in specific academic work or internships. Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. Experience in civil rights, equity, compliance, or related work through internships, coursework, student group leadership, or advocacy initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience in student affairs, compliance, conflict resolution, advocacy, or related roles. Familiarity with Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, or other civil rights frameworks through training or work experience. Experience working with diverse populations. Experience working in the SUNY system.

Professional Rank and Salary Range:
Staff Assistant, SL2, $54,090-60,000.
