Job Description

We are looking for an HR Generalist to join a team in White Plains, New York, in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This role supports day-to-day human resources operations across the employee lifecycle, from bringing new team members onboard to assisting with separations, payroll coordination, and employee support. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, communicates clearly with employees and managers, and can stay organized in a fast-moving environment with frequent questions and requests.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for newly appointed and returning employees, ensuring required documentation and processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Manage employee separation tasks, including termination processing and updates related to layoff status for both active and inactive cases.
  • Support weekly payroll administration for a workforce that may increase to approximately 50 employees during peak periods.
  • Maintain records for employee loans, advances, and reimbursements while ensuring timely follow-up and accurate tracking.
  • Respond to employee questions involving pay, overtime, benefits-related matters, and general HR topics with professionalism and patience.
  • Prepare and provide employment verification documentation and other standard HR letters as requested.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers across multiple locations to address HR needs and maintain consistent support, without travel requirements.
  • Assist with job posting coordination and related recruiting support when needed.
