BASIC FUNCTION
The Human Resources Generalist will oversee the full-cycle, day-to-day operations of the Human Resources (HR) department. Responsibilities include recruiting and interviewing staff, managing onboarding and offboarding processes, administering benefits, and ensuring compliance with employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, I-9, and E-Verify. The Generalist will also support the enforcement of company policies and procedures. Under general supervision, this role performs HR functions of routine to moderate complexity, including employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, and employee services, following established policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Generalist assists in implementing and administering personnel policies and programs to ensure alignment with HR and overall business objectives, and is responsible for general payroll functions, including timely and accurate reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Conduct regular audits of HR processes and practices to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This includes safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications. Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with department managers to identify required skills and competencies for open roles. Conduct or coordinate background checks and employment eligibility verifications. Facilitate and manage new hire orientation. Utilize the applicant tracking system to manage recruitment activities. Prepare regular reports for management regarding HR functions and initiatives. HR

Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA; recommend policy updates as needed. Stay current with HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in the field. Maintain personnel files in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements. Handle notifications of wage garnishments, liens, and court-ordered wage assignments. Provide clarification and guidance on HR policies and procedures as requested. Assist with short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), and workers' compensation (WC) paperwork and processes. Coordinate the employee separation and termination process, including: Preparation of separation documentation Conducting exit interviews Managing COBRA notifications and enrollment Support special projects as assigned.
