Benefits and Leave Specialist/Human Resources/Full-Time The Benefits and Leave Specialist is responsible for administering the hospital's employee - benefits and leave of absence programs. This position will ensure that the hospital's offerings are compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position, in conjunction with the Director, Human Resources will collaborate with senior leadership, HR teams, and other stakeholders to optimize employee retention and satisfaction through benefits administration. The Benefits and Leave Specialist is an onsite position. Essential Functions Manages the hospital's benefits programs, including retirement plans, health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, vacation, workers compensation and other employee perks. Responsible for compliance with summary plan documents. Ensures reporting requirements are met timely. Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork including FMLA. Ensures benefits programs adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ERISA. Responsible for all state and federal reporting (1094, 1095, 5500, OSHA 300, etc.) including the audit process. Keeps up to date with changes in laws affecting employee benefits. Assist in the administering of the hospital's compensation programs including general increases, job grade updates, and job transfers. Conducts regular market analysis to ensure salary structures are equitable and competitive. Serves as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, resolving issues, and educating employees about available benefits options, ensuring they make informed choices and understand the value of their compensation and benefits packages. Collaborates with Finance to manage HRIS data to ensure accurate payroll processing. Manages relationships with external vendors (e.g., insurance providers, retirement plan administrators), ensuring service levels are met, and the hospital receives optimal value for its investment. Resolves discrepancies with carriers and other involved parties. Promotes a collaborative environment with the Hurman Resources department and serves as the employee benefits subject matter expect for the organization. Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety. Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in business or human resources
License:
None Experience:
Two (2) years' experience in employee benefits administration
Certification:
CEBS, SHRM, PHR, or related certification within 2 years of hire.
