Job Description

The Employee Relations Specialist will support the Manager of Employee Relations in fostering a positive work environment and addressing employee concerns. This role will focus on managing day-to-day employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, employee investigations, and compliance with labor laws. The Employee Relations Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining open lines of communication between employees and management and ensuring that company policies are consistently applied.

5 - 10 %
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Support:
Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking assistance with workplace issues, grievances, or questions regarding policies and procedures.
Conflict Resolution:
Assist in addressing and resolving employee concerns, conflicts, and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
Policy Compliance:
Ensure that employees and managers understand and follow company policies, and assist in policy interpretation and enforcement.
Investigations:
Conduct fact-finding investigations into complaints of harassment, discrimination, and other workplace misconduct. Collaborate with the Director of Employee Relations on findings and recommendations.
Employee Relations Reporting:
Track and maintain records of employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Provide regular reports to the Director of Employee Relations.
Training & Education:
Support the development and delivery of training programs focused on workplace behavior, conflict resolution, and compliance with labor laws.
Employee Engagement:
Assist in the implementation of initiatives designed to improve employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.
Legal Compliance:
Stay updated on changes to employment laws and ensure that the company remains compliant with all relevant regulations.
Performance Management:
Provide guidance to managers on addressing employee performance concerns and disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency across departments.
Mediation:
Act as a mediator between employees and supervisors or managers to resolve disputes before they escalate into formal grievances or investigations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with HR, Legal, and Operations teams to provide consistent employee relations support across the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or a related area. Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with discretion and professionalism. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Experience with conflict resolution and conducting investigations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Temco Logistics is an equal opportunity employer.
