This role requires knowledge of California employment laws and a commitment to maintaining a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace. The position also plays a key role in supporting the growth and success of both the HR team and the broader organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Administer and support HR programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with federal, state (including California), and local laws. Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and employment practices. Support payroll processes, including timecard review and reconciliation, and coordination with payroll providers to help ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist in recruitment efforts for the operations team, including job postings, candidate screening, scheduling, and coordination. Conduct interviews and collaborate with hiring managers to support effective hiring decisions. Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation and exit procedures. Maintain employee records and HRIS data in accordance with recordkeeping requirements. Support employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting concerns, and partnering with HR leadership to address issues appropriately. Coordinate benefits administration, including employee enrollments, changes, and communications; serve as a liaison with benefits providers. Assist with leave of absence administration, including compliance with applicable laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, PDL). Participate in performance management processes, including tracking reviews and supporting managers. Support training and development initiatives, including compliance training. Ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times. Perform additional duties, whether or not specifically outlined, as needed to support the growth and success of the HR team and the organization. Non-Essential Duties Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 2-5 years of HR experience, preferably in California. Working knowledge of California labor laws and regulations. Experience supporting payroll processes and benefits administration preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP). Experience in multi-state HR operations. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Primarily works in an office environment; may require prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.Compensation Salary range:
$75,000 -$90,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for bonuses and/or incentives. Benefits As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for the following benefits: Bronze level coverage, 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your eligible dependents, effective on the first day of the month following your hire date. You will have the option to upgrade to higher-tier plans at your own expense. 401(k) participation with a 3% Company match, effective after 60 days of employment.
