The Role We are seeking an HR Specialist to manage biweekly payroll processing, assist with employee benefits administration, and support company culture initiatives. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional—including entry-level candidates or recent graduates—looking to build a strong foundation in payroll and HR operations. Key Responsibilities Payroll & Commissions (45%): Process biweekly payroll, calculate sales commissions and bonuses, manage deductions (HSA, 401k, garnishments), oversee timeclock systems, and partner with Accounting. Benefits Administration (45%): Coordinate health and corporate benefit programs across administrative platforms; maintain FMLA procedures; assist with annual open enrollment. HR & Cultural Involvement (10%): Assist with recruiting, support employee appreciation events, and actively participate in Sunburst Chemicals' Volunteer Committee initiatives.
What You Bring Experience:
1 - 3+ years of payroll, accounting, or HR experience (internships and relevant office work count!).
Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Technical Proficiency:
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required. Experience with Paychex or modern HRIS tools is a plus.
