Job Description
Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd., is a global pharmaceutical company based in Japan with operations in the U.S. (Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc.), focused on addressing patient needs in oncology, urology, women's health, rare diseases, cell & gene therapies and CNS. The Human Resources Associate will support the HR Operations and Employee Relations functions and serve as a trusted advisor and partner to all employees. This position will work closely with our HR leaders, HR centers of excellence and the business to ensure alignment with our mission, vision, values and cultural pillars. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities from onboarding to offboarding, and all points throughout the employee life cycle. This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the US.
- Responsibilities include:
- + Build and maintain effective working relationships with the business and the HR team to support a positive, engaging and rewarding company culture.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- + Solid knowledge of Workday HRIS or equivalent people platforms + Strong collaboration skills and ability to build lasting partnerships in a business + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills + Ability to work independently and accomplish assignments with minimal supervision + Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus + Sound judgement and decision making + Knowledge of the principles/practices of HR administration + Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks that span multiple projects and multiple stakeholders + Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty + Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
Education and Experience:
- + Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.

Mental/Physical Requirements:
- Fast-paced environment handling multiple demands is involved. Must be able to exercise appropriate judgment as necessary. Requires a high level of initiative and independence. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Requires ability to use a personal computer for extended periods of time.
Travel Requirements:
- Primarily remote role with periodic on-site meetings in office. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
