This role is ideal for an HR generalist who enjoys consultative work, managing multiple client engagements, and delivering practical, compliant HR solutions that improve both operations and employee experience. Consultants in this role balance hands-on execution with advisory support across core HR disciplines, while meeting utilization and quality standards. You will work directly with clients, internal stakeholders, and delivery partners to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and with minimal revision. Key Responsibilities Client Service & HR Delivery Design and deliver customized HR solutions aligned to each client's workforce needs. Provide guidance across recruiting and onboarding, compliance and employment law, payroll administration, and employee relations. Develop common HR assets such as employee handbooks, job descriptions, HR processes, and training materials. Advise clients on organizational development, performance management, compensation strategy, and employee engagement. Maintain clear, professional communication throughout the full client lifecycle. Project Management & Prioritization Manage multiple client projects simultaneously while balancing deadlines and billable targets. Accurately estimate time requirements, track work, and flag scope changes or delivery risks early. Collaborate with internal team members to review work, audit time, and obtain project approvals. Maintain accurate task tracking and documentation within internal systems. Performance & Professional Excellence Maintain a minimum 85% billable utilization rate. Deliver high-quality work with minimal revisions. Consistently meet deadlines and service-level expectations. Contribute to internal process improvements and refinement of delivery tools. Business Development Support Identify and surface potential growth opportunities through client interactions. Support firm growth through service excellence, lead sharing, and participation in team-based initiatives. Build strong client relationships that encourage retention and referrals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive, hands-on HR experience with a strong generalist background. Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or higher) strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High level of autonomy, accountability, and attention to detail. Comfort using modern productivity, project management, and collaboration tools. Working Conditions and Benefits Be located in Kansas City. Work from home with reliable computer and internet connection. Occasional travel for client meetings, team gatherings, or industry events. Standard business hours with occasional overtime as needed. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. 50% assistance with medical insurance.
