Job Description
Job Summary Federal Hr Classification Specialist C Evans Consulting specializes in recruiting and hiring in the federal sector, bringing the right solutions and the right consultants to get the job done. We support the end-to-end talent acquisition process, delivering highly qualified Sourcing Specialists, Recruiters, HR Specialists (DE Certified), Classification Specialists, HR Assistants, and Personnel Security Reviewers. The Federal HR Classification Specialist provides end-to-end position classification services in support of the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Human Resources Directorate. Working across hiring authorities, the Specialist researches, analyzes, writes, and evaluates Position Descriptions (PDs), conducts desk audits, and helps the program office standardize and streamline classification processes in accordance with OPM standards and agency guidance. Key Responsibilities Provide end-to-end classification services across various hiring authorities, including research, investigation, analysis, review, writing, editing, and rewriting of Position Descriptions (PDs). Conduct supervisor and employee desk audits and position reviews. Review and evaluate new draft PDs as well as existing PDs; classify PDs and prepare written evaluation statements to support title, series, and grade using OPM's classification standards and agency SOPs. Design and implement the transition to standardized PDs for use by agency customers. Track activities and requests through logs, spreadsheets, or other methods, in order, to ensure requests are resolved and to identify outstanding issues. Assist the program office in implementing standard processes related to HR classification so the work of the office is completed in a timely, consistent, and efficient manner. Make recommendations to support HR and/or program offices in creating SOPs, standardized PDs, and related classification resources. Required Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience in position classification and writing Position Descriptions (Required). Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (Required). Ability to commute to and work on-site in Alexandria, VA 22311 (Required). Working knowledge of OPM classification standards and federal HR policy across authorities.
