Icarus Medical is a growing medical device engineering, manufacturing and sales organization (~60 employees) operating across the US. Our mission is to restore the quality of life of patients experiencing joint pain and mobility limitations through innovations in orthopedic bracing technology. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Lead to support and scale our people operations. This role requires a certified HR professional with strong recruiting experience and a background in regulated environments. You will lead talent acquisition, onboarding, employee development, and compliance programs, including HIPAA compliance. You will also be tasked with fostering a dynamic and exciting culture as the organization scales while empowering our team to bring industry-leading innovations to life. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment for technical, manufacturing, sales, and corporate roles Design and implement structured onboarding programs to support compliance and accelerate employee productivity Develop and oversee employee training and development programs, including compliance training tied to regulated environments Administer and maintain HR compliance programs, including HIPAA and applicable FDA workforce-related requirements (e.g., training documentation, audit readiness) Manage employee records and HR workflows within the company's personnel management system Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and industry regulations Partner closely with the Finance team to coordinate payroll inputs, benefits administration, and tax-related processes Support employee relations, performance management, and policy enforcement Assist leadership with workforce planning, organizational development, and HR reporting Oversee company events and culture Support marketing and sales departments in event and travel coordination, including conferences Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) Active HR certification required (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) 3-6 years of HR experience, preferably in medical sales, healthcare, or other regulated industries Strong recruiting experience across technical, manufacturing, and/or sales roles Working knowledge of HIPAA and experience supporting compliance in regulated environments (FDA exposure preferred) Experience using personnel management platforms such as Gusto Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to operate independently while collaborating cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical device manufacturing or life sciences Familiarity with quality systems or audit environments (e.g., ISO, FDA inspections) Experience supporting a mid-sized, growing organization What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package $75,000-$90,000 base Opportunity to earn equity in a fast-growing organization, including starting bonus Annual bonuses in cash or equity Opportunity to shape and grow HR processes in a scaling organization Collaborative environment with cross-functional leadership exposure Mission-driven work supporting innovative medical technologies How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and certifications.
