POSITION OVERVIEW
Supports HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee inquiries, status changes, compliance, and HR reporting, while assisting with special projects and serving as a backup to Payroll. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department to ensure efficient, and customer-focused service delivery. Responsible for responding to all inquiries, including—but not limited to—employee questions, comments, or concerns regarding FMLA, FLSA, ADA, facility policies, benefits, and workers' compensation. Maintain confidential personnel records and other HR related files in compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and records retention requirements, ensuring all documentation is updated and filed accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for coordinating and administering pre-employment processes, including drug testing, background screenings, and reference checks, in accordance with legal requirements. Responsible for the submission, tracking, and ongoing management of workers' compensation claims. Responsible for responding to unemployment claims and administering wage garnishments in a timely and compliant manner. Completes and submits all required EEO reports accurately and within established deadlines. In coordination with the Director, department heads, managers, and other stakeholders assist in the recruitment process for vacant positions by preparing and placing position announcements, coordinating recruitment activities, processing candidate applications, communicating with applicants as needed, and performing other related recruitment tasks. Processes employee status changes—including hires, terminations, and pay adjustments—accurately and in a timely manner for payroll review. Assists with tracking and reporting HR metrics, including turnover, workers' compensation claims, and other relevant data, for monthly meetings and additional reporting needs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of voluntary and legally mandated employee benefits. Strong knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal employment laws. Proficient in computer applications and HR systems including Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Requires three to five (3-5) years of experience in human resources roles. HR certification, preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently lifts or exerts up to ten (10) pounds of force and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Regularly involves sitting, speaking, and hearing; frequent walking and standing; occasional reaching, handling, and manual tasks. Requires clear verbal communication to convey ideas effectively and the ability to hear and comprehend information at normal conversation levels. Proficient in operating standard office equipment and analyzing written and electronic data. Work is primarily performed in an office setting with moderate noise levels. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a satisfactory general background check, including state and local criminal history checks, as well as a satisfactory drug screening.
