Job Description:
Q.E.D. Systems, Inc., an experienced Marine Engineering firm, has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist. This position is available in our office in Port Orchard, WA. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience within the Human Resources field.
Job Requirements/skill sets:
In the role of Human Resources Generalist, you will work under the leadership of the West Coast Assistant Human Resources Manager, and we'll count on you to: Use corporate systems to maintain employee records and process personnel actions Assist in gathering data for issues and claims as needed Review employee system queries periodically for accuracy of information Answer basic policy and procedure questions Facilitate employee onboarding and termination activities Demonstrate knowledge of Q.E.D. policies and procedures Understand Q.E.D. benefit plan provisions, assist with employees' benefit-related questions Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
5-10 years related experience Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication and strong client service ability Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships Strong organizational and follow-up skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and various managers in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented Ability to handle confidential information An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Experience with HRIS preferred Knowledge of Washington State Labor Laws preferred
Education Requirements:
High School Graduate, Associate or Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business or related field preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access:
U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible for and be able to maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance. Be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards. Q.E.D.
