Job Description
Description Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or "the College") seeks a Human Resources Consultant 2 (HRC2) to support Columbia Basin College's mission to inspire, educate, and empower students by ensuring the recruitment and onboarding of faculty and staff who advance the College's vision of transforming lives and communities. This role fosters a culture of excellence through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while upholding the College's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by eliminating barriers to success in the hiring process. By promoting sustainable practices and supporting employee wellbeing, the HRC2 works to align recruitment efforts with the College's strategic goals and values. This position reports to the Director for Talent Recruitment & Retention. This position closes on May 25, 2026 @ 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Primary Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment processes for faculty and staff, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interview facilitation, candidate selection, and onboarding ensuring compliance with policies and collective bargaining agreements; Provide guidance to hiring managers on equitable recruitment strategies and implement tailored recruitment plans to attract diverse and qualified candidate pools; Draft and post accurate, detailed job announcements by analyzing, compiling, and verifying information to meet departmental needs and ensure thoroughness across internal and external platforms; Manage employment applications in the online system, maintain accurate and organized position files, evaluate applicant qualifications, troubleshoot application or workflow issues and ensure timely communication and release of qualified applicants to search committees; Coordinate pre-employment hiring processes and ensure accurate, timely transition of new hire information and documentation to onboarding staff to support a seamless employee experience; Develop and deliver training for hiring managers on equitable recruitment strategies, compliance with employment laws, and effective candidate selection techniques; Analyze recruitment metrics and workforce data to identify trends, evaluate process effectiveness, and recommend improvements aligned with institutional recruitment goals; Partner with the Director for Talent Recruitment & Retention to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives into recruitment processes, aligning hiring practices with institutional goals; and Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position; Two (2) years of employment recruitment experience; and Proficient with standard office productivity tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to quickly learn and effectively use applicant tracking systems, HR platforms, and other technology tools used to support recruitment processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience administering an online applicant tracking system; and Knowledge of Human Resources and general recruitment practices.Skills and Abilities Oral & Written Communication :

Provides timely, professional, and solution-oriented support to applicants, employees and hiring managers. Responds promptly to inquiries, follows through on requests, communicates effectively regarding process updates, and maintains a high level of customer service throughout the recruitment lifecycle.Self-Motivated :
Demonstrates initiative and accountability in managing assigned recruitment and onboarding processes with minimal supervision. Independently prioritizes workload, monitors deadlines, and ensures timely, accurate completion of tasks within established policies and procedures. Proactively identifies routine issues, implements appropriate solutions, and follows through to resolution or escalation as needed to maintain effective service delivery.Problem Solving Skills :
Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve recruitment, onboarding, and system-related issues in a timely manner. Gather and analyze information skillfully, develop practical solutions, adapt to changing priorities, and exercise sound judgment when addressing complex or sensitive situations.CBC Shared Commitments :

Terms of Employment This position is a full-time, overtime eligible classified staff position. The typical work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; however, must be available to work a flexible schedule when prior notice is given by the College.Process Note:
