Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starting individual with a passion for developing and enhancing Human Resources services and programs. This position will play a key role in supporting and growing our HR department while fostering a positive and supportive environment for our Grand View staff. Job Functions Recruitment & Onboarding Develop and implement effective hiring strategies to attract qualified staff. Coordinate interviews, caregiver background checks (per Wis. Admin. Code DHS 12), reference checks and pre-employment screenings. Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding processes. Analyze staffing trends, overtime use, and turnover to make data-driven HR recommendations Employee Training Conduct and track new employee orientations, including required state training on resident rights, abuse reporting, and infection control. Maintain required continuing education records for CNAs and licensed staff. Ensure all training meets Wisconsin DHS and CMS standards. Employee Relations & Engagement Serve as a resource for employee concerns, complaints, and conflict resolution. Promote employee engagement initiatives and foster a supportive work environment. Investigate and respond to grievances, harassment claims, or disciplinary matters. Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, FMLA, and workers' compensation. Educate employees about benefit options and assist with enrollment. Review and reconcile benefit provider invoices against employee payroll deductions to confirm accuracy and maintain compliance. Compliance & Policy Management Develop and enforce HR policies in compliance with: Wisconsin Fair Employment Act FMLA (Federal and Wisconsin-specific leave laws) EEOC, ADA, and HIPAA Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records. Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in accordance with nursing home regulations. Performance Management & Training Support department heads with employee evaluations and corrective action plans. Coordinate ongoing staff development, mandatory training (e.g., abuse prevention, infection control), and continuing education.

Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems. Excellent time management, personal accountability, and initiative skills
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Human Resources, required At least two years of human resource management experience required Preferred experience in recruitment and retention Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices specific to the healthcare industry. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in UKG Ready (preferred) HRIS system and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
Must use proper body mechanics to withstand frequent common movements, such as stooping, bending, twisting, and squatting for varied amounts of time. Must be able to tolerate extended periods of sitting in one place and performing repetitious movements such as keyboarding. May have to lift a maximum of 50 lbs to a maximum height of 3 feet and be able to carry such weight a maximum distance of 6 feet. May have to push, pull or move items by using 25 lbs of exerted force for varying distances. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Must maintain good hygiene and cleanliness.
