The Bureau of Human Resources (BHR), Region 2 is currently recruiting to fill a Human Resources Specialist Limited Term Employment vacancy. This position will be located at the Department of Corrections (DOC) central office in Madison, Wisconsin. Region 2 provides HR services to the
DOC. NOTE
LTE positions are limited to working a total of 1039 hours over a period of 12 months. Candidates must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin in order to be considered. Position Summary This position responsibilities encompass a wide range of human resources services in employment relations, recruitment and selection, compensation, diversity, affirmative action principles, administration of applicable federal and state laws, administrative codes, and policies and procedures. This position performs these general human resources duties and provides technical assistance and guidance to applicable employees and supervisors and also works to support the same work in other divisions as necessary or other human resources duties in BHR when needed. Salary Information The starting pay is between $27.00 and $37.82 per hour. The pay schedule/range is 81-04. Job Details Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application. Region 2 will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
NOTE:
This position is eligible to work remotely for a majority of the time. This will be discussed with the supervisor upon appointment. There will also be some travel to DOC sites as needed. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: Working with personnel management techniques and practices. Working with HR related laws such as Worker's Compensation, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), AA/EEO, etc. Utilizing proper methods and techniques for job and position analysis. Utilizing and working with progressive disciplinary systems and methods. Utilizing a human resources information system (HRIS) such as PeopleSoft.
