Foster Parent Recruiter/Trainer About Us KidsPeace is a private charity dedicated to supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of children, families, and communities. Since 1882, we have offered psychiatric hospital services, residential treatment programs, accredited educational services, and foster care programs. Position Overview KidsPeace invites you to join our mission-driven team dedicated to providing hope, help, and healing to children, adults, and the families who love them. The Foster Parent Recruiter plays a vital role in ensuring a ready pool of qualified, local foster parents prepared to care for children when placement needs arise. This position focuses on increasing community awareness, building strong relationships, and supporting both new and existing foster families. Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Screening:
Identify, recruit, interview, and evaluate prospective foster parents in accordance with state regulations and KidsPeace requirements, including the completion of written Home Studies.
Training Support:
Participate in training efforts to equip foster parents with the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding of the foster care system and the children we serve.
Retention & Engagement:
Support foster parent recognition, retention, and satisfaction by coordinating and participating in office-based and community events.
Community Outreach & Fundraising:
Build community awareness of the ongoing need for foster families and resources, including participating in fundraising activities that support local foster youth.
On-Call Participation:
Take part in the on-call rotation, with responsibility for independently responding to crises and emergency placements during non-standard business hours.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human services degree required, with experience in foster care, adoption or other family serving systems preferred. Excellent written/verbal communication skills and basic computer skills. Valid driver's license and registered vehicle, able to work independently in the field
