Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a full-time University Relations Recruiter 1 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and building relationships with hiring managers to recruit, interview and hire entry level technical candidates as well as developing, building and maintaining university contact relationships to attract, recruit and hire quality candidates.Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Recruit, screen and interview for assigned positions including reviewing candidate applications, resumes, and transcripts for relevant skills, experience and education Learn about, plan, and implement/attend job fairs, campus events, interview sessions, and other recruitment activities and conduct presentations Provide complete, accurate and inspiring information to candidates about the company, its culture, technical job opportunities, benefits and career path Leverage advertisement/recruitment sources to generate interested candidates and partner with senior members of team to learn how to investigate new sources Develop and maintain a network of university contacts including students, faculty, and student organizations to identify and source qualified candidates Develop and build relationships with internal stakeholders and work proactively to recruit and hire top notch candidates, ensuring an exemplary customer service experience for business partners Assist with Garmin's internship program, including assisting with planning and coordinating events, housing, presentations and evaluations as needed Learn about the importance of data integrity by ensuring accurate, complete, and thorough documentation/tracking for each candidate in Garmin's ATS Learn to conduct candidate searches using existing sourcing options (job boards, social media, networks, ATS) to connect with and develop candidate interest in job opportunities Work collaboratively with college recruitment staff to suggest, coordinate, and attend creative and innovative college recruitment events and programs Learn and exemplify superior service by achieving annual hiring goals Understand/apply learned knowledge of HR related legislation and Garmin policies and learns how to apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right prioritiesQualifications:
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrate aptitude to learn and effectively apply knowledge of HR practices, processes, programs and technology Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to speak effectively in group or individual settings Demonstrate an understanding of and a desire to achieve recruitment/retention goals Must be positive, detail/quality oriented, organized, accurate, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with excellent follow-up skills Must demonstrate the capability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters Flexibility to travel (up to 25% of the time) Desired Qualifications Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) AIRS or PHR certification Experience with high-volume, full-cycle recruitment Experience building and fostering relationships with external partners such as universities or other academic programs Experience with corporate event planning or intern program management Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
