Job Description

Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a motivated and strategic Recruiter to lead full-cycle hiring in a fast-paced, mission-driven juvenile justice environment. This role is critical to ensuring we attract, hire, and retain professionals who embody integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to public service in our multi-award-winning facility. What You'll Do Manage full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding Build strong candidate pipelines using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Partner with leadership to meet staffing needs and improve hiring strategies Coordinate pre-employment processes (background checks, physicals, etc.) Represent FPJDC at job fairs and community events Track recruitment metrics and maintain accurate HRIS data Support onboarding and assist with new hire training What We're Looking For 1-3+ years of recruiting or HR experience Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to assess candidates for safety-sensitive roles Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, human resources, social or behavioral sciences, and/or a degree in a business-related field. An associate degree in a related field may be acceptable when combined with 3+ years of experience in law enforcement, corrections, and/or recruiting/talent acquisition. Experience in public sector, corrections, law enforcement, or juvenile justice. Why Join FPJDC?
