DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
- Conduct meetings with current and potential referral sources
- community hospital administrators, physicians, mid-level clinicians, employers, and athletic coaches and trainers
- and their office staff, establishing oneself as the MU Health liaison and advocate. Build mutually beneficial relationships, identify market needs including outreach opportunities, create awareness of newly hired clinicians and services, and resolve referral/service issues.
- Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with MU School of Medicine department chairs and administrators and MU Health Care leadership to facilitate resolution of referral/service issues.
- Collaborate with Planning, Marketing, and Communications to develop and implement organized, timely, and effective marketing and provider communications plans that support system and service line initiatives and achieve targeted volume growth.
- Collect data to systematically identify and document problems experienced by referring physicians and hospitals with respect to the organization and its faculty.
- Cultivate relationships with community organizations and large employers to identify education opportunities to position MU Health as the clinical expert in the community. Coordinate such programs with MU School of Medicine departments and facilitate the programs with the external organizations/employers.
- May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in health administration, public relations, marketing, communications, or a related area.
- Three (3) years of experience in health care with an emphasis on physician relations, business development, healthcare sales, or a related area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
