JOB SUMMARY
Blue Crew Ambassadors are professional staff members of the Office of Admissions. Blue Crew Ambassadors work alongside the Admissions Counselors and staff to ensure that visiting potential students and families have an enjoyable experience at Seton Hall University. The Blue Crew will register families and give guided tours of campus (along with any tour related activities). Blue Crew Ambassadors are also very knowledgeable of the application process, history of the University, and have a certain pride and enthusiasm in the institution they attend. Blue Crew Ambassadors play a vital role in the recruitment of students to the University and provides assistance with various admissions tasks. A successful Blue Crew Ambassador develops excellent communication, resource, and networking skills, which can later be applied in post-college careers. In addition, Blue Crew Ambassadors will conduct themselves in a professional manner and model positive behavior consistent with the Catholic Mission of the University, community life standards, and academic requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as an ambassador for the University by providing tours of campus, attending virtual events and attending large scale admissions events. Serve as a resource to prospective students and family members for the Office of Admissions over the summer by engaging with them via phone, email and in person. Provide a student perspective on University life. Attend and actively participate in all required meetings. Attend and actively participate in all required training programs. Have basic experience with computers and familiarity with the University e-mail system and PirateNet. Assist with a variety of manual tasks such as moving boxes, filing etc. Ability to effectively handle administrative tasks such as answering the phone, filing, copying, processing mail, etc. Disseminate appropriate information to prospective students and family members in an effective and timely fashion. Arrive on time for all work obligations. Possess a basic knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations. Be familiar with University offices, departments, and resources. Work independently and in groups, sometimes under pressure. Have an understanding of the Mission of the University. Must be able to work in-office and Saturday tour shifts over the summer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully completed 30 credits by May 2026. Be registered for a full time course (12 credits) load for Fall 2026. Be in good academic standing. Be in good judicial standing. Must be able to work at least 2 Saturdays per month over the summer. Must be enrolled in a matriculated program and registered at least half-time for Fall 2026 DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
Available to keep in communication with prospective students and family members. Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. Be able to provide prompt and courteous customer service to prospective students and families. Conduct self in a professional manner at all times. Listen and respond to personal concerns and issues with a supportive attitude and assist students with obtaining appropriate University assistance.
