This role is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified Commercial Driver's License (CDL) drivers to support client needs within the transportation and logistics industry. The ideal candidate will have experience recruiting CDL drivers, a strong understanding of DOT regulations, and the ability to build lasting relationships with candidates and hiring managers. CDL Driver RecruiterKey Responsibilities Source, recruit, and onboard qualified CDL Class A and B drivers using a variety of channels (job boards, social media, referrals, networking, and database mining). Conduct pre-screen interviews to evaluate driver qualifications, certifications, driving history, and culture fit. Verify applicant credentials, including CDL status, endorsements, medical cards, and compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process from initial outreach through onboarding and placement. Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified driver candidates to meet client demand and fill open orders promptly. Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers or clients. Track recruitment activity and candidate status within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Build strong relationships with candidates to improve retention and redeployment rates. Partner with account managers and operations teams to understand hiring needs and workforce planning requirements. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Participate in job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach initiatives as needed.
Qualifications Required:
2+ years of recruiting experience; CDL or transportation recruiting preferred Strong knowledge of CDL classifications (Class A, B), endorsements, and DOT requirements Proven ability to meet recruitment metrics and hiring goals in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, interviewing, and relationship-building skills Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruiting tools High level of organization and attention to detail
Preferred:
Experience recruiting in staffing or logistics/transportation industries Familiarity with FMCSA regulations and driver compliance standards Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Key Competencies Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency Ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Customer-service mindset when working with candidates and clients Team-oriented with the ability to work independently Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + performance-based incentives/commission Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) Career growth and advancement opportunities
