SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Goodwill Industries of South Texas plays a key role in supporting the organization's mission of empowering individuals by providing additional employment opportunities through Goodwill South Texas. This position is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring top talent to meet organizational needs, ensuring a seamless recruitment process that aligns with the organization's goals and values. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is expected to be courteous and professional while upholding the Goodwill values of Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Talent Acquisition Lead all recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring, to meet organizational staffing needs. Manage and maintain accurate job postings on internal and external job boards. Utilize multiple recruitment channels, including job boards, social media, career fairs, community partnerships, and partnering agencies Review applications and resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings on behalf of the Business Services department Serve as the primary liaison within the Business Services department, acting as the central point of contact between candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. Represent the organization at job fairs and recruitment events across all districts, promoting opportunities and engaging prospective candidates. Maintain ongoing follow-up on applicant progress during the collection and submission of required documentation to support timely hiring outcomes. Travel to agency locations as needed to provide recruitment-related training or support. Support onboarding activities for assigned departments to ensure a smooth, compliant, and positive hiring experience. Ensure all recruitment and onboarding practices comply with applicable State and Federal laws, agency policies, and Human Resources procedures. Administrative Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of employment. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any of the following may be used to qualify: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field. Associate's degree and two (2) years of related include knowledge of employment laws. High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) include knowledge of employment laws. Possess valid Driver License, clean driving record, and carry minimum liability coverage as required by the State of Texas. Pass pre-employment criminal background check and Drug/Alcohol screen. Bilingual (Spanish and English)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with all levels of management, employees, participants, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook .
  • Ability to sit in an office environment for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 20 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
