Job Description
The Student Success Ambassador (SSA) position is designed to provide SLCC students with a work opportunity in STEM Learning for Student Success Managers (SSMs). Students will assist SSMs providing personalized guidance, peer mentoring and support for identified STEM students. The Ambassadors will make student contact, visit classes to help students be aware of the resources available to them, be involved with events, assist in outreach, and work closely with SSMs to advance student retention and success with identified students.

Demonstrated positive interpersonal/human relations to communicate effectively, build rapport, and project a positive attitude with broad populations and cultural backgrounds in STEM. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Interpersonal problem-solving skills to make appropriate referrals to the SLCC Student Code, Campus Resources, and provide mentoring support. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer operating systems and SLCC's computer systems (Banner, DegreeWorks). Work collaboratively with other office staff, a variety of campus departments and community personnel. Willingness to learn.
