Job Description

Job Title Recruiting Assistant Job Description The Recruiting Assistant supports the Human Resources team by sourcing candidates, conducting initial phone screens, and coordinating interview logistics across multiple departments, including engineering, operations (assembly, warehouse, machine shop), and accounting. This fixed-term role, expected to last approximately 12 months, provides essential support to the HR function by maintaining a strong hiring pipeline and enabling HR partners to focus on broader strategic initiatives. The position offers the opportunity to gain high-volume recruiting experience while making a meaningful impact on hiring outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct resume mining through the HRIS, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Indeed to build strong candidate pipelines. Compare resumes to job descriptions to assess alignment and suitability for open roles. Generate and maintain qualified candidate pools for high-volume positions such as warehouse associates, machinists, and assemblers, as well as select entry-level professional roles. Narrow candidate pools to top prospects and present them to HR partners for further review. Conduct 5-10 structured phone screens per day using established phone-screen guides. Evaluate candidate fit, communication skills, and alignment with the organization's culture during phone screens. Document screening outcomes accurately and recommend next steps to HR partners. Schedule interviews and coordinate availability among HR team members, hiring leaders, and candidates. Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for interview logistics and candidate communication. Support onboarding activities as needed, including preparing materials and coordinating pre-employment requirements. Manage candidate workflow and disposition statuses within the HRIS (Ceridian). Maintain accurate candidate records and documentation while supporting compliance standards. Assist with process improvements to streamline recruiting operations and enhance candidate experience. Provide general administrative support to the HR team related to recruiting and hiring activities. Skills and Qualifications Required Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or recruitment support, including resume screening and phone screening. Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-moving recruiting environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with candidates and internal stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Comfort using applicant tracking systems and HRIS tools to manage candidate workflows. Self-starter mindset with the confidence to be assertive and follow up for information or decisions when needed. Ability to schedule and coordinate interviews across multiple stakeholders and departments. Work Environment This is a fixed-term assignment with full benefits for the duration of the contract. The role operates within a supportive and collaborative HR team environment that values open communication and teamwork. The HR team is described as fun, supportive, and highly engaged, offering a positive setting to build recruiting skills. The position involves frequent use of HR technologies, including an HRIS (Ceridian), LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, and Word. Work hours offer flexibility, with start times between 7:00 and 8:30 AM and core hours from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, allowing some adaptability in daily scheduling while maintaining coverage during key business hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sheboygan Falls, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
