Maine Trust for Local News, a nonprofit news organization, is looking for a highly organized and proactive HR Recruiting and Training Coordinator to join our dynamic HR Team. The HR Recruiting and Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and employee training initiatives to support organizational growth and workforce development. This role partners with hiring managers to attract and onboard qualified candidates while coordinating training programs that enhance employee performance, engagement, and compliance. The coordinator also provides administrative support for HR operations and maintains accurate recruitment and training records. Key Responsibilities Recruitment, Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting jobs across multiple recruiting platforms, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with applicants.
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with employment offers and pre-employment documentation.
  • Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) and monitor recruitment metrics
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation
  • Prepare onboarding materials and ensure completion of employment documentation
Training & Development:
  • Coordinate employee and manager training programs and e-learning initiatives.
  • Schedule training session and communicate training requirements to employees
  • Maintain training calendars, attendance records, and certification documentation.
  • Assist in developing and updating training materials and presentations.
  • Track employee training progress and ensure completion of mandatory training
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, assessments, and feedback Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 1-3 years full cycle recruiting and training coordinator experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and HRIS/ Applicant Tracking Systems (ADP a plus)
  • Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices is preferred.

Pay:
$48,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
