Director of Program OperationsJOB PURPOSE
Leads the agency volunteer recruitment process and facilitates volunteer onboarding and training. Liaisons with agency teams to assess and fill volunteer needs ensuring proper placement. Supervises volunteer recruitment support staff. Fosters and maintains sustainable community partnerships as a source of volunteer recruitment. Serves as P4K representative/liaison for MENTOR Nebraska.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Generates leads, schedules, and implements recruitment presentations. Works with business/corporate community, universities, professional, and community/religious organizations through individual/networking meetings and presentations. Implement a strategic recruitment plan and partners with direct service teams to identify and meet quarterly and annual recruitment goals. Coordinates volunteer intake and retention processes for agency by following up with phone and online communications, disseminating appropriate information to and conducting background screenings annually on all agency volunteers. Manages applicant database and tracking systems. Provides ongoing communication with agency staff, volunteer applicants and community contacts. Community outreach and marketing initiates, creates, and coordinates unique alternative avenues for recruitment outreach. Assists programming in coordinating annual volunteer appreciation events and community events for volunteer recruitment efforts. Facilitates and tracks initial and ongoing volunteer training for all new and existing volunteers. Provides quality training and resources in keeping with best practices established by the MENTOR Elements of Effective Practice . Experiences volunteer roles at each program level to gain perspective on each type of volunteer position.Team and Agency Goals:
Contributes to team effort by assisting with programming, volunteer and development goals, including special projects, grant applications, and recruiting from volunteer pool to assist with volunteer needs for the agency. Participates in agency committees as needed. Attends relevant training focusing on mentorship, volunteer management, and youth development. Attend and assist with all major agency-wide events.JOB REQUIREMENTS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ANDABILITIES
) : Bachelor's degree required in communications, business, marketing, public relations, or related field. 1-3 years of previous work experience. Previous recruitment, marketing, sales, and management skills required. Proven ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to interact in a professional manner with employees, volunteers, and company contacts. Strong computer skills required in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design applications. Daily access to a reliable vehicle for travel to meetings as needed. State minimum liability insurance requirements must be maintained for the duration of employment. Driver's license and acceptable driving record must be maintained throughout employment. Refer to the employee policy and procedure manual for a complete list of acceptable driving information and requirements.
