Job Description

Local recruitment: Volunteer and Restoration Manager Tualatin Riverkeepers Tualatin, OR, USA 🇺🇸 Tualatin Riverkeepers is seeking our next Volunteer and Restoration Manager. The position oversees all aspects of TRK's restoration work, and coordinates our efforts to recruit and train new volunteers across the organization. Responsibilities include building relationships with land management organizations, organizing volunteer restoration and stewardship projects, and coordinating volunteer outreach efforts.
Responsibilities include:
Restoration and Stewardship Develop and maintain strong relationships with land management partners throughout the Tualatin River watershed In conjunction with TRK's Executive Director, identify strategic opportunities to partner on large scale restoration projects Recruit and train Volunteer Restoration Crew Leaders Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective volunteer groups. Develop materials for and facilitate Restoration Crew Leader programming Facilitate community stewardship events at sites throughout the watershed Attend trainings and partnership on committees to stay apprised best practices in climate-adaptive native planting and habitat restoration Volunteer Management and Outreach Coordinate recruitment of individual and group volunteers, working with TRK colleagues on placement in their respective programs Develop and update volunteer and outreach materials Develop materials for and facilitate Watershed Ambassador training Identify outreach opportunities for TRK staff and volunteer Watershed Ambassadors to represent the organization in the community Represent TRK at public events, trainings, and forums, particularly those related to outreach and restoration work Maintain up to date knowledge of best practices for volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination Develop and send monthly volunteer newsletter Additional Responsibilities Assist colleagues in coordination of annual events, including Tualatin River Discovery Day, Earth Day, and the Green Heron fundraiser Identify partnerships and learning opportunities to engage historically underrepresented communities in our program work Participate in organization-wide activities, such as annual member meeting, strategic planning, and board meetings, as requested
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of local native, non-native and invasive species Experience in leading hands-on habitat restoration or stewardship work Experience in volunteer recruitment and management Comfort in working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
2-3 years experience in volunteer management 3-5 years educational or professional experience in restoration or environmental management Ability to speak
Spanish Salary and Benefits:
$58,000 - $62,000/ year Full health and dental insurance paid by employer 3% retirement match with immediate eligibility Up to 6 weeks of paid annual leave, plus 11 paid holidays
