Position Summary:
Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Workforce Development to lead strategic, innovative, and responsive workforce training initiatives that serve the needs of our region. Reporting to the Dean of Technology and Health Sciences, the Director will provide direction, leadership, and operational oversight for customized credit and continuing professional education (CPE) and other skills-based learning designed to strengthen the local and regional economy. The Director will actively collaborate with the School of Business, Arts, and Sciences and the School of Technology and Health Sciences to develop training programs that bridge academic pathways with workforce readiness. This includes creating industry-aligned Computer Information Systems (CIS) courses for high-demand fields such as cybersecurity, IT support, database management, and software applications for business operations
Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Development and Leadership Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of customized workforce training and CPE programs to meet employer needs. Collaborate with academic deans, faculty, and staff to integrate workforce initiatives with academic credit programs, ensuring clear pathways from training to degree completion. Partner with the School of Business, Arts, and Sciences to develop CIS-based professional development, such as Microsoft Office Specialist certifications, digital marketing analytics, and business data visualization courses. Partner with the School of Technology and Health Sciences to develop CPE programs requested by our community partners. Lead our apprenticeship programs, including Welding, Electrical, and Plumbing. Partnerships and Outreach Build and sustain strong relationships with local and regional businesses, industries, economic development organizations, and community agencies. Serve as the primary point of contact for industry partners seeking training solutions, including both credit-bearing and short-term, skills-focused programs. Represent ASU-MH at workforce development events, advisory boards, and industry round tables. Funding and Grant Management Identify, pursue, and secure workforce development funding through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships. Prepare proposals and manage awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all regulations and reporting requirements. Align budget priorities with institutional goals while managing departmental financial resources effectively.

Program Development and Leadership Instructional Oversight and Quality Assurance Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate instructors for workforce and CPE courses. Ensure instructional quality, alignment with industry standards, and the effective use of technology in training delivery. Explore flexible delivery formats including online, hybrid, and on-site training to meet employer needs. Marketing and Client Relations Develop marketing strategies and promotional materials to increase visibility of workforce programs. Oversee client billing, contracts, and service agreements in collaboration with finance staff. Track and report program outcomes, including enrollment, completion, and employment data.

Expertise in collaboration, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and group decision-making. Customer-focused with the ability to tailor solutions to partner needs. Proficient in technology for instructional delivery, including learning management systems, productivity software, and virtual meeting tools. Ability to analyze labor market data to guide program development

Monday-Thursday 7:30 am- 5:00 am & Friday 7:30 am - 2:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Bachelor's degree is required. Five (5) years of administrative, management or technical experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, business, technical, or related field. Teaching or employee development experience. Curriculum development and/or industrial training experience. Familiarity with industrial processes, emerging technologies, and workforce trends. Experience working with businesses, industries, community colleges, public schools, and community agencies.
