Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Nurse Manager II for the Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit of a premier, non-profit healthcare system. This role requires a strategic leader to manage 24/7 operations, ensuring clinical excellence and safety in a high-volume maternal-child health environment. You will lead a dedicated team of RNs and support staff, focusing on operational efficiency and high-quality patient outcomes.Key Responsibilities Departmental Oversight:
Lead daily operations of the L&D unit, including staffing, workflow, and patient throughput.Leadership & Mentoring:
Recruit, train, and evaluate a high-performing nursing team; manage performance and professional growth.Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the unit remains "survey-ready" for TJC, state, and federal audits.Financial Management:
Oversee the department's budget, focusing on labor productivity and resource allocation.Quality & Safety:
Drive clinical protocols that prioritize patient safety and enhance HCAHPS scores.Minimum Requirements License:
Active California RN License is mandatory.Education:
BSN required; Master's degree (MSN/MHA/MBA) highly preferred.Experience:
• 5+ years of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D) . 3+ years of progressive nursing leadership/management experience.Certifications:
