Current opening for 40 hour Labor and Delivery & Postpartum Nurse Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
Current CT RN License required. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Starting rate commensurate with position related experience Minimum of 5 years L&D/OB experience required. Demonstrates ability to coach and mentor
KEY RESPONIBILITIES
Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing, and patient flow across Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Serves as the on-shift leader, addressing real-time clinical, staffing, and patient care issues in alignment with CBC Director Supports and conducts staff evaluations, performance management, coaching, and corrective action processes Ensures safe scheduling, appropriate skill mix and scheduling to meet budgeted FTEs Promote adherence to clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and departmental policies Completes weekly payroll accurately with oversight of CBC Director Collaborate on quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of departmental goals and objectives Participates in department orientation program and reports progression to CBC Director Supports process of interviewing and hiring for vacant positions Plans and conducts unit staff meetings. Distributes minutes to director and staff Promotes performance improvement and Shared Governance philosophy and practice Consistently demonstrates a high level of professional role modeling, communication, and collaboration with nursing administration, and demonstrates support of immediate superior and hospital administration. Actively participates in management meetings and committees as assigned Participates in developing, maintaining, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures in conjunction with CBC Director Oversees newborn and delivery logs and departmental statistics Provide leadership support in the absence of the Director Additional duties assigned as necessary --- Griffin Hospital offers the following for
