Training Manager Job Summary:
The Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all technical, regulatory, and compliance training programs within a CFM engine and module repair MRO environment. This role ensures personnel are properly trained, qualified, and current to perform work in accordance with FAA, EASA, OEM, and internal requirements. The Training Manager supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and workforce development across production, quality, and support functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Program Management Develop and maintain the MRO training program in compliance with FAA Part 145, EASA Part 145, and customer requirements Ensure initial, recurrent, and specialized training programs are established for: Technicians and mechanics Quality inspectors Engineers and support personnel Maintain training matrices and qualification standards for CFM engine and module repair operations Regulatory & Compliance Oversight Ensure all training records are complete, accurate, and audit‑ready Support FAA, EASA, customer, and internal audits related to training and personnel qualification Coordinate with Quality to ensure training programs align with approved manuals and procedures Stay current with regulatory changes and OEM training requirements impacting the repair station Technical & EOM Training Coordination Coordinate OEM, vendor, and third‑party training programs (CFM, GE/Safran, NDT, human factors, etc.) Work with Engineering, Quality, and Production leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs Support the introduction of new repairs, tooling, capabilities, and technologies through training Leadership & Workforce Development Lead and develop training staff or instructors (if applicable) Partner with department managers to support certification, progression, and succession planning Promote a strong safety, quality, and compliance culture through effective training delivery Support onboarding and mentoring programs for new hires Continuous Improvement Evaluate training effectiveness using performance metrics, audit findings, and operational feedback Drive continuous improvement in training content, delivery methods, and documentation Support Lean, standard work, and human factors initiatives through targeted training programs
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in aviation, Education, Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred Equivalent aviation industry experience in lieu of degree will be considered Minimum 5-8 years of experience in an aviation MRO, training, quality, or technical leadership role Direct experience in FAA/EASA-regulated repair station environments Experience supporting engine or module repair operations, preferably CFM engines Prior Experience managing or coordinating training programs highly desirable Certifications & Technical Knowledge Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred Strong working knowledge of: FAA Parts 145 and 43 EASA Part 145 training requirements Human Factors, HF/CRM, and EWIS training principles Familiarity with OEM manuals, repair data, and qualification requirements Training or instructional certification a plus (Train‑the‑Trainer, adult learning, etc.) Skills and Competencies Strong organizational and documentation management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with Quality, Production, Engineering, and HR Detail‑oriented with strong audit preparation and compliance focus Proficient with training management systems, learning management systems (LMS), and Microsoft Office tools
