Decides the training requirements of the organization and designs training programs that address staff needs. May also be partially responsible for determining the strategic goals of the organization. Supervises training managers and training staff and evaluates training impact.

September 28th, 2026 Company Description Top Pick Athletics is a locally owned and operated multisport training facility serving Fox Valley athletes, teams, and the community. Top Pick started in North Aurora In 2011, with the goal of creating a space for budding and experienced athletes alike to learn, train and grow in their sports. It was run by former athletes with the knowledge and passion to train. This endeavor led dozens of athletes towards their potential in baseball, softball, and football. In 2016, a group of investors purchased Top Pick Athletics and built a new facility to house it located in Sugar Grove, IL. This new facility is big, clean, bright, contains sophisticated technology to improve performance, new equipment, and is run professionally to meet the needs of the Fox Valley community and its young athletes. In 2019 Top Pick started its own travel baseball teams, and still welcomes and invites outside teams, programs, and individual athletes to use our facility. Top Pick has what discerning athletes need as they train to become the best they can be. Top Pick exists for the beginner wanting to learn the basics to the most advanced athletes looking to take their skills to the highest level.

Position Responsibilities:
Work with players to understand their backgrounds, assess needs, teach and assign training programs, review stats, and develop hitting skills Learn, deliver, and modify (as-needed) training to kids of all ages and skill levels Collaborate with the General Manager and Travel Director and lead camps, clinics, and other initiatives to improve player development Support other basic Top Pick Athletics duties (ex.: working camps, running practices), as needed or requested Serve as a peer leader and trainer for other future Top Pick Coaching hires Weekly development sessions with baseball coaches & players to evolve coaching tools and skills across the teams. Ability to assist athletes and their families with future planning to help achieve their goals (recruiting process, admission process, playing college baseball, etc.) Assist coaching staff with planning/execution of daily practice routines and other duties including, but not limited to, hitting, defense, and baserunning instruction Help staff build and implement technology-oriented projects related to various aspects of position player development Assist with analysis of position player performance using various tools, reports, and technologies Communicate with field staff, coordinators, and front office to implement and improve player development initiatives Communicate plans, goals, and progress with players and relevant staff throughout checkpoints Assist field staff, when able and necessary, with day-to-day operations (e.g., throwing batting practice, hitting fungo, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned and agreed upon. Necessary Skills Collegiate or Professional Baseball or Softball background as a player or coach, passionate about the game and teaching it to young players Ambitious, motivated self-starter attitude who enjoys meeting and training players of all ages; energy to operate in a fast-paced baseball/softball training environment Mature and efficient communication skills across oral, written, typing, and texting, with demonstrated ability to adjust communication tone and delivery based on audience Empathetic, with an ability to understand players' unique coaching needs and tailor approach accordingly Ability and flexibility to work nontraditional business hours including evenings and weekends. Required Qualifications Top Pick Athletics believes that having prior sports facility management experience is not a necessary requirement to achieve success with this facility.
