Job Description

Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) Lakes Homes & Program Development, Inc. $24-$30/hour (based on experience and qualifications) Lakes Homes is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator to lead the development of our DSP workforce, ensuring staff are prepared, accountable, and aligned with our standards for person-centered support and professional practice, including ongoing training compliance under Minnesota 245D. This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who can train effectively, assess staff readiness, and ensure compliance with Minnesota 245D requirements, while working with staff ranging from individuals new to direct support work to highly experienced DSPs, and maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries across diverse working styles and perspectives. What You'll Do Lead recruiting, screening, and interviewing of DSP candidates Manage onboarding, employment paperwork, and background studies Provide direct training, including: Positive supports (245D-aligned practices) CPR/First Aid and other required trainings Ensure staff are prepared before working alone Coordinate shadowing and early training in program homes Evaluate staff competency—not just completion of training Track and ensure completion of ongoing and annual training requirements in compliance with 245D Support and develop staff with varying levels of experience in direct support work Transition staff to the designated coordinators and scheduling teams after onboarding Maintain clear, compliant documentation of training, onboarding, and ongoing training compliance Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (human services or related field preferred) Experience in human services (245D experience strongly preferred) Experience providing training, supervision, or program oversight Strong organizational and follow-through skills Ability to communicate effectively across varying experience levels Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities, maintaining professionalism, clear boundaries, and consistency in practice Valid driver's license and ability to travel between program locations
Preferred:
Experience in Human Resources, including hiring and onboarding CPR/First Aid Instructor certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience training adult learners in applied settings Work Environment Works across multiple program sites Collaborates with Designated Managers, Coordinators, and Scheduling Some flexibility in schedule may be needed to meet hiring and training demands About Lakes Homes Lakes Homes & Program Development, Inc. provides community residential services focused on enhancing human worth and potential.
