Job Description

High Point University is currently seeking a full-time Director of Admissions Training and Development. This position is responsible for sales assessment and training of the Undergraduate Admissions team to help improve communication of differential advantages and increase yield at every level of engagement. Success will include continual assessment of the ways in which we connect with prospective students, communicate our differential advantages through our campus tours and visit experience, and follow up with all students expressing interest in High Point University. This position is effectively responsible for building and delivering high quality training and development experiences while continually evaluating the effectiveness of those programs. The Director plans, directs, leads, manages, and executes the development, design, and delivery of selling skills, institutional knowledge, and competitive knowledge. The Director will also support increased enrollment effectiveness through state-of-the-art training and develop programs that lead to increased ability to achieve field sales objectives. The selected professional will be ambitious, strategic, hands-on, analytical, collaborative, detail-oriented, and relentless in pursuing growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. Experience and Training Minimum 7 years' experience in sales and customer service. Ability to close and experience with closing sales. Proven track record of sales achievement. Experience and understanding of Needs Based Selling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serves as lead sales trainer for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions Enhances current training program for various teams of Admissions Counselors, Graduate Recruiters, Tour Guides, and Campus Visit Coordinators Prepares new team members by conducting orientation to sales process; developing individual coaching plans; providing resources and assistance; scheduling orientation shadowing and travel with senior representatives. Assess training needs (and mediums) and execute training curriculum. Develops individual results by maintaining policy and procedure resources; providing coaching; conducting training sessions; developing outcome improvement resources. Trains counselors and recruiters on sales skills and abilities, particularly: rapport building, phone skills, post tour conversations, and closing. Develops and maintains regular training schedule throughout the year: group and one-on-one. Works with Campus Visit and Counselor teams on group tour experience Improves effectiveness of messaging for campus tours Develops education and sales training at all levels. Enhances and maintains training programs for professional staff. Enhances and maintains regular communication for remote staff. Works with Director of Admissions Events and Visits to prepare key messages and presentations for events. Coordinates with Director of Admissions to identify needs for undergraduate Admissions Counselor training. Coordinates with Associate Vice President for Graduate Admissions to identify needs for Graduate Recruiter training. Collaborates with Admissions Counselors on identifying useful programming and outreach for new student recruitment. Collaborates with Virtual Programming Team for identifying opportunities for funnel development content. Collaborates with Admissions Call Center leadership to train and develop student callers. Contributes to Admissions Team efforts by assisting other counselors as time permits. Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students' parents, faculty, co-workers, and managers. Maintains in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of the University's academic and extracurricular programs. Other duties as assigned.
