Introduction The Division of Personnel Management is recruiting to fill two Training and Development Specialist - Senior vacancies with the Bureau of Training and Development to provide virtual and in-person training to state employees. This position is headquartered at the Department of Administration State Office Building, 101 East Wilson Street, Madison, WI. The position currently has the flexibility to work remotely. Time in the office will be required depending on training and operational needs. Statewide travel to provide training is required. Position Summary This position is responsible for researching, developing, delivering, and evaluating training for all state agencies. Training may include topics such as team building, conflict resolution, accountability, trust, new supervisor development, leadership development, and project management. In addition, this position will use data to help determine training needs, develop and update curriculum, consult with leadership and management, and support a variety of workforce development programs. This position will collaborate with other members of the Bureau of Training and Development as well as stakeholders, agency contacts, and external representatives to provide training for the state workforce. Salary Information Starting hourly rate for the Training and Development Specialist - Senior position (schedule/range 81-03) will be $35.00 per hour - $38.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. A 12-month probationary period is required. Job Details Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have experience with each of the following: Researching and narrowing content to design virtual and in-person training based on learning outcomes and grounded in adult learning theory and/or Bloom's taxonomy. Developing and modifying training materials and resources for a variety of audiences. Delivering and evaluating virtual and in-person training sessions. Using a variety of interactive training strategies for virtual and in-person sessions (e.g., breakout rooms, polling, Gallery Walk, etc.). In addition, well-qualified applicants will have experience with one or more of the following: Facilitating virtual and in-person training using best practices in accessibility, usability, and inclusion to engage all learners.
