Job Description

Recognized for our leadership in low-impact mine development and nationally acclaimed for our reclamation and closure practices, our team has produced gold from six different deposits in the region since 1990. Currently the operation is managing an exciting multi-year pipeline of projects and is looking to build our team to effectively deliver results. Job Summary The Learning & Performance Trainer assesses operations, identifies training deficiencies, prioritizes training requirements, designs, resources, and delivers training programs to improve operational effectiveness and employee development across Kettle River Operations (KRO). This role ensures employees possess the right skills, knowledge, and support to succeed safely while adhering to Kinross's policies and procedures. Essential Functions

- Develop an annual training strategy to ensure employees possess the skills, knowledge, and support to safely perform their jobs.
- Evaluate operations to identify deficiencies in employee skills and knowledge.
- Determine and prioritize training solutions to maximize effectiveness and minimize disruptions.
- Brief senior managers on training strategy and implementation plans.
- Develop financial estimates for training solutions and partner with department heads to incorporate training into annual budgets.
- Collaborate with departments to identify development needs for hourly and salaried employees and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with all departments to ensure consistency across hourly progression steps.
- Evaluate learning needs, design content, and update training packages to address skill gaps, regulatory changes, and operational priorities.
- Develop and deliver training packages to mitigate identified deficiencies in employee skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate with Operations to align training needs, scheduling, and workforce readiness across all departments.
- Resource and schedule training to meet Kettle River Operations requirements.
- Ensure the Training Matrix captures all current training, certifications, and regulatory training requirements.
- Work with the Safety Department to schedule and resource annual MSHA refresher training to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company health, safety, and quality standards in all training activities.
- Track and report on training compliance, capability gaps, and development milestones.
- Provide support for audits, onboarding activities, and operational readiness during the Curlew Restart.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills
- College degree in training and development, or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years' of related experience training and coordination.
- Experience developing training programs and strategies.
- Demonstrated proficiency with training software, LMS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation, industry codes of practice, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and continuously improving learning programs in a technical or industrial context.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to convey objectives and coach learners at all experience levels.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in managing training and employee data.
- Valid Drivers's license and authorized to work in the US. Health, Safety, and Environmental Requirements
