Position Overview The Director of Coaching leads the technical and coaching development strategy for Eau Claire United Soccer Club. This role ensures consistent, high-quality coaching across all programs in alignment with ECU's mission to teach fundamental skills, build confidence and love of the game, and develop players to their highest competitive level. The DOC fosters a player-centered, positive, and inclusive environment while supporting coach education and club-wide consistent technical standards. Responsibilities Develop and implement a club-wide coaching philosophy, curriculum, and player development pathway consistent with ECU values, WYSA/US Youth Soccer guidelines, and best practices. Recruit, hire, assign, evaluate, and provide ongoing education/mentorship to all coaches, including specific performance feedback and bi-annual coaches meetings. Oversee coach licensing, training, and certification requirements; attend relevant

coaches' meetings and communicate rule/policy updates. Collaborate with the Sporting Director, Girls/Boys Directors, and board on team formation, tryouts, player placement, and program development. Monitor and support coaching quality through observations, player/coach/parent feedback, and alignment with safety, sportsmanship, and inclusivity standards. Serve as the primary technical liaison to the Board of Directors, parents, and external partners. Contribute to club operations as needed, including tournaments, camps, and strategic initiatives. Promote a positive sideline culture and player-centered development over win-at-all-costs. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to mentor volunteer and part-time coaches. Background check clearance and SafeSport certification required. Passion for community soccer in the Chippewa Valley and alignment with ECU's volunteer-driven culture.
